Yvette Raymonde (Boucher) Mancini

Fall River: Yvette R. (Boucher) Mancini, 104, of Fall River died peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Catholic Memorial Home.

She was the wife of the late Joseph (Ray) Mancini to whom she was married for 58 years and the daughter of the late Edgar and Marie Rose (Durand) Boucher.

Born in Fall River, Yvette worked as an LPN in several area hospitals and nursing homes. She lived for over 20 years in So. Carolina and Florida before returning to Fall River in 2002.

She was a Charter Member of the Licensed Practical Nurses of MA, District 21, having served as vice president and president.

A communicant of St. Mary’s Cathedral she was a member of their Senior Club. She attended the Fellowship Meetings at the Shepard Center at the First Baptist Church. Yvette was also a former member of the South Coast Opera Club, having her own radio singing show in the 1930’s. She and her late husband Ray enjoyed camping and were directors of the Avion Travelcade Club.

Yvette was a very energetic person and was an active member of the YMCA until COVID struck in her 103 year. She was the first female to join the “Y” at the age of 18 in 1935. She was the Assist. to the President of Ms. Sr. Sweetheart Pageant of America Inc., a greeter and former lector at St. Mary’s Cathedral, past president of St. Mary’s Cathedral Seniors, a Board member of the Council on Aging. Yvette loved clogging, hula and line dancing.

She was also a past member of the United Interfaith Action, member of Friends of the Fall River Library, Member of the Bristol County Triad, Board member of Bristol Elders, Tour secretary of the St. Mary’s Cathedral Seniors and former Treasurer of the Borden East Resident Council.

Yvette loved to travel, volunteer, read, exercise, dance, spend time with her family and, of course, drink some good red wine.

She leaves 2 sons: Richard Mancini of Fall River and his wife Mary-Louise of Fall River, MA and Raymond Mancini of Yuba City, CA and his wife Cheryl. She is also survived by her sister Jeannine Warburton of South Carolina and was the sister to the late Lorraine Carter and Annette Miller.

Yvette leaves 4 grandchildren: Richard and Christopher Mancini, Rebecca Cross and Kara Whipp. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So Main St., Fall River. Her Funeral will be held Thursday Sept. 30, at 9:00AM from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St., at 10:00AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Greater Fall River Community Food Pantry, 235 Nashua St., Fall River, MA, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice.
