Winona P. (Pierce) Berube, 75, of Highland Ave., Fall River, formerly of Bedard St. and Borden Place West, So. Main St., died Friday, October 20, 2006. She was the wife of the late Joseph R. Berube. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Brown) Pierce, she lived in Dartmouth for many years and in Fall River for the past 54 years. She owned and operated the former Jo-Ann's Pleasant St. Sandwich Shoppe for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of Notre Dame Parish. Survivors include a son, Roger J. Berube and his wife Cheryl of Fall River; a daughter, Anne-Marie Cunningham and her husband Rev. Marcus Cunningham of Broadview Heights, Ohio; 8 grandchildren, Leanne, Roger and Brittany Berube and Anastasia, Naomi, Michael, Christi and Nicole Cunningham; a great-grandson, Shea Devon Mooney and a sister, Lorraine Russell of New Bedford. She was the sister of the late Jean Fauteux and Afton, Roderick and Edward Pierce. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday 5:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance located at the rear of funeral home.
