William B. "Bill" Sharples

William B. "Bill" Sharples, 54, of Somerset, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013. A graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1976 and Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY, Class of 1980, he was a Chemical Engineer for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for many years. A serious collector of mineral and rock gemstones, he also enjoyed art, photography and hiking. He leaves his parents, Doreen (Senechal) Sharples of Somerset and Irving Sharples and his wife Susan of North Port, FL; his sister, Deborah Sharples DeCambra, and her husband Kenneth of Somerset; a nephew, Brandon Kipp and his wife Wendy of Barre, VT; nieces, Melissa Lange, her husband Caleb, and their children, Emarie, Claire, Elliott and Miles of Richmond, VA, Haley DeGraff and her husband Jeff of Dover, NH, and Allyson Marcotullio, her husband Joseph, and their son Landon of Burlington, VT; and his beautiful feline companions, "Vanessa" and "Emma". His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, Somerset, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
