William J. "Bill" Mitz

William J. "Bill" Mitz, 74, of Fall River, husband of Carol L. (McPherson) Mitz, died Tuesday, January 12, 2009. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a salesman for Cains Foods and later trained Racing Greyhounds throughout the country for 23 years. A member of the Search for God Study Group, he enjoyed reading and walking and visiting the South End McDonald's, most especially his friend "Jane". Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves 2 children, Cynthia Miller and her husband Joseph of Lee, Florida and John W. Mitz of Fall River; loving grandchildren, Alexa, Dylan and Eric Mitz and Lucas and Steven Miller; siblings, Walter Mitz of Florida and Alice Hadley of Duxbury, MA and nieces and nephews. He was father of the late William J. Mitz, Jr. and the son of the late Walter and Alice (Romansky) Mitz. Visitation, Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a service at 3:00 PM. Cremation to follow. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
