William J. Hanson, Sr.

William J. Hanson, Sr., 75, of Fall River, husband of Geraldine (Coppinger) Hanson, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018. A member of Teamster's Union, Local 526, he was employed by the former Cook Borden Lumber Yard and Building Materials. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and gambling. Besides his wife of 54 years, he leaves three children, Deborah Scholes and her husband Tom of Florida, Tammy DeCosta and her husband Horacio and William Hanson, Jr. all of Fall River; four grandchildren, Joshua Wagner of Fall River, Marisa Hanson of Tiverton, and Lexi and Morgan DeCosta both of Fall River; three siblings, Geraldine Nickerson and her husband Earl of Little Compton, Linda Mello and her husband Paul of Fall River and Michael Hanson and his wife Linda of Warren and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late William and Belmira (Rocha) Hanson. Private funeral arrangements entrusted to the Auclair Funeral Home.
