William J. Hackett, Jr.

September 25, 1942 — January 9, 2013

William J. "Bopper" Hackett, Jr., 70, a lifelong resident of Fall River, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013. A former member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, activated in 1962, serving active duty at Fort Bragg NC. He was employed by Citizens for Citizens for numerous years and was a bartender at Billy's Café for several years. A member of the Corky Row Club, he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed dancing. He was the son of the late William and Alice (Morris) Hackett; the brother of the late Joan Stallman; the uncle of the late Michael Stallman; and the longtime companion of the late Carol Hilton. Visitation, following cremation, in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Saturday, January 19, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to Veterans Outreach, 755 Pine St., Fall River MA 02720, appreciated.
