William B. Carter, Sr.

September 27, 1940 — December 3, 2012

William B. Carter, Sr., age 72, of Fall River, husband of Janet (Chace) Carter, died Monday, December 3, 2012. A Navy veteran of the Cuban Crisis, he was employed by Dennis Machine, Bristol, RI and Spectrum Lighting, Fall River. A movie buff, he enjoyed going to Martha's Vineyard and cherished time spent with his family. Besides his wife of 49 years, he leaves three children, Gayle Blouin and her husband David of Newton, William B. Carter, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Somerset and Stephen Carter and his wife Sheila of Taunton; 7 grandsons; sisters, Shirley Robinson of Kansas and Karen Millerger of Colorado; a stepbrother, Pete Soucy of Fall River; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Byron and Isla (Albers) Carter and the brother of the late Ruth Jaro and the stepson of the late Clara Carter. His funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church at 11:00 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Monday morning prior to the funeral from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Donations to Faxon Animal Rescue League, 474 Durfee St., Fall River MA 02720 appreciated.
