William D. Boulay, 74, of Dartmouth, MA and Naples, FL, husband of Claire M. (LeBlanc) Boulay, entered into his heavenly home on November 26, 2018. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Arthur and Gloria (Levesque) Boulay.
He graduated from Diman Vocational Technical High School in the top ten of his class. Upon graduation, he joined the National Guard. After returning from boot camp, he started his career with New England Telephone in 1964, retiring in 2003 as a Manager from Verizon.
He lived in Assonet, MA for 38 years and was a member of St. Bernard's Parish. He organized both the Annual Family Picnic for several years and the parish retreats at LaSalette. He was Chairman of the parish Catholic Charities Appeal, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Cross of Christ Council, and enjoyed bowling as a member of the parish league. He was also a member of the Corky Row Club for many years and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Upon retiring, he, along with his wife Claire, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and becoming "snow birds" in Naples, FL. Together they were members of Habitat for Humanity Care-A-Vanners where they would like to travel to sites from Missouri to Prince Edward Island working to build homes for the less fortunate.
He enjoyed boating, skiing, bowling and traveling, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, he leaves a daughter, Monique A. Sullivan (husband Joe) of Carver, MA and Richmond, ME, a son, Marc D. Boulay (wife Torri) of Tiverton, RI; four grandchildren, Cara A. and Connor P. Sullivan, John W. Boulay and Katherine Boulay Deus; a sister, Annette Borden and a brother, Norman Boulay. He was predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Robert Boulay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alz Support Network, 660 Tamiami Trail N. #21, Naples, FL 34102 or/and Community Nurse Hospice Care, 62 Center St. Fairhaven, MA 02719.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 12/05/18 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, No. Dartmouth with a Celebration of Life Mass on Thursday, 12/06/18 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Auclair Funeral Home.
