William J. Alexander

William Joseph Alexander, 78, of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Edmund C. Alexander, Jr. and Georgianna (Rapoza-Mello) Alexander; He was employed in the logistics industry and had served in the Marine Corps.  Bill was a graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1963.  He enjoyed watching professional wrestling and was a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and the Boston RedSox.  In his earlier years, Bill was a Baseball and Softball coach and later an umpire.

He was the father of Kimberly A. Souza (husband Michael) of Somerset and William Alexander, Jr. (wife Terri) of Billerica, MA; four grandchildren, Shana Alexander (husband Joshua Strangie), Joshua Souza (girlfriend Courtney Santos), Aspen Alexander (fiancé Tanner Baylor) and Katelynn Souza; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Stella, Jackson and Abel Strangie; two Goddaughters who he helped raise, Lisa Wrightington and Stephanie Alexander Cook; many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Edmund Alexander, Ernest Alexander, Helen Gonsalves, Louis Alexander, Elsie Zimmerman and Nancy R. Alexander

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. There will be a funeral service in the funeral home during the visitation at 1:30 P.M.
