Wesley B. "Wes" Wheelock

Wesley B. "Wes" Wheelock, Sr., 91, of Tiverton, husband of the late Helen F. (Newberry) Wheelock, died Thursday, September 4, 2014. He owned and operated F. N. Wheelock and Sons, Fall River and Newport and Coin Operated Car Washes in Fall River and Newport for many years. A veteran of WW II, he served in the Navy and the Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was Past-president of the Lions Club, Tiverton and member of the Lions Club and Lodge of Elks, Fall River and the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club. He was the father of the late Wesley B. Wheelock, II; the father-in-law of the late Nancy (Ferris) Wheelock; the grandfather of Wesley B. Wheelock, III of Fall River and Sean M. Wheelock (wife Shanna) of Loveland, CO; the brother of Hazel Metze of Coronado, CA and the late Major W. Wheelock, Franklin Wheelock, Andrew Wheelock, Marion Wesley and Dorothy Ferry; and the son of the late Frank N. Wheelock and Gertrude (Wilson) Wheelock-Bottomley; the companion of Margaret (Buckley) Newberry of Fall River and also leaves many nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Burial, Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Visitation, Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
