Walter M. Fernandes

Walter M. "Wally" Fernandes, 49, of Charlotte St., Fall River, died Sunday, June 18, 2006. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late Walter and Deolinda (Costa) Fernandes. A self-employed automobile mechanic, he was a member of St. John's Athletic Club. Survivors include his beloved friend and companion Joanne McMullen; his former wife, Lorraine (Ferreira) Fernandes of Fall River; 2 daughters, Angela Fernandes and Jennifer Durfee, both of Fall River; 2 stepsons, Timothy and Thomas Helley, both of Fall River; 3 brothers, Joseph Williams of Dighton and Paul Williams and Robert Fernandes, both of Fall River; 7 grandchildren, Kayla, Bryona, Corey, Destiny, Codey, Gage and Dakota and 2 nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow. Visitation prior to the service Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:30 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
