Walter A. Ellis

Walter A. Ellis, 86, of Tiverton, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Michaeleen (Lepow) Ellis. Born in Fairfield, Maine,he was a graduate of the University of Maine. Walter moved to Tiverton, RI in 1966 and had also lived in Newport. He and his wife wintered in Marathon, Florida for many years. He was employed by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport. Walter had a big heart. A loving husband and father, he was kind and giving to everyone, wanting nothing in return. His hobbies included spending time in his workshop, boating, gardening and using his computer.

Besides his wife of 53 years, he leaves a daughter, Sharon Ellis and her husband Greg Tougas of No.Kingstown, RI; a sister, Elizabeth Jones of San Diego, CA, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rachel Nelson and Richard Ellis. He was the son of the late Donald and Hazel (Moore) Ellis.
