Walter W. Armburg, Jr., 66, of Santa Fe, NM, formerly of Swansea, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 5, 2011. An engineer and graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University, he was employed by Goodyear Tire, Ohio, and Federal Products Corp., RI. In 1988 he founded the commercial contracting firm W.W. Armburg, Inc. , relocating to New Mexico in 2002 to pursue his love of building custom homes featuring his signature stonework medallion. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was a passionate collector of Indian Art. An exceptional craftsman, he designed and built fine furniture and leather work including clothing and accessories. The son of the late Walter W. Armburg, Sr., he leaves his mother, Louise (Pimental) Armburg of Somerset; daughters, Christine Kenney (husband Richard) of Bellingham, MA and Jennifer Scotti (husband Richard) of Concord, NH; grandchildren, Troy Taylor, Rachel, Megan and Sarah Kenney, Nicole, Emily and Dominic Scotti; his fiancée Marilyn Cashman; and brothers: Michael Armburg (wife Donna) of Westport and Douglas Armburg (wife Kerry) of Swansea. Following cremation a mass will be held Saturday, November 5, at 9:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, followed by a gathering at the Venus De Milo, 75 GAR Highway, Swansea. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Boy Scouts of America, 1325 W. Walnut Hill LA, Irving TX 75015, or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701.
