Violante "Violet" (Silvia) Alexander

Violante "Violet" (Silvia) Alexander, 99, of Fall River, entered eternal rest Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was the wife of the late Alfred Alexander.

Violet was a longtime employee of Lamport Manufacturing having worked there until it closed. She then worked at Fall River Knitting Mills until retiring at age 65. She participated in Bristol Elders Senior Day Care Program. Violet enjoyed reading, container gardening, traveling with friends, senior outings and most especially time spent with family.

She leaves a son, Daniel, his wife Teresa of Westport; two grandchildren, Bethany, husband Scott Akins of Raynham, and Brett, wife Alexandra of Cedar Park, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Sarah, Emily and Rachel Akins and Mason and Ethan Alexander. She leaves a sister, Linda Pollock of Pawtucket, RI. She was predeceased by sisters Hortense Silveira and Ida Gomez and a brother, Bill Silvia.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 AM. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation, Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:00 AM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
