Vera (Battistoni) Quinlan

December 27, 1928 — March 2, 2013

Vera (Elvira) Quinlan, 84, passed away March 2,2013. She was born in Fall River to John and Sarah Battistoni. She married Donald Quinlan at the age of 18 and was the mother of three by the age of 23. Seven years later she bore twin boys and 11 months later a baby girl... Her very own Irish triplets. For 25 years she was a homemaker. Following her divorce she moved with her three youngest children and her father, to California to be closer to her only sister. There she made a home for herself and her teenage children and went to work in a medical lab. In 1978, she moved the family back to Massachusetts, continuing her emotional, financial and loving support of her children. Vera was an incredibly strong, beautiful and brilliant woman, who was talented in art and sewing. But above all else her family and children came first. She is survived by her sister, Rina and Bruce Fisher of California; her children, Michael Quinlan of New Bedford,MA, Robert and Charlotte Quinlan of Illinois, Linda Quinlan of Harwich,MA; Donald and Naomi Quinlan of Somerset, John and Emma Quinlan of Lakeville, MA, and Arleen Quinlan of Providence,RI. She is also survived her cherished grandchildren Kara Battistoni , Kyle Ernst and Megan, Janice Mae and Mark Quinlan and numerous nieces,nephews. Following cremation, her memorial mass will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Louis de France Church, Swansea.
