Ursula K. (Fischer) Wilkinson

Ursula Karoline (Fischer) Wilkinson, 73, of Westport, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022.

She was the loving wife of Daniel T. Wilkinson for the past 56 years.

Born in Germany, the daughter of the late Margarete Eva Heinrich Fischer and Mathias Kanisauskas, she came to the United States in 1967.

She was employed by Sacred Heart Nursing Home, New Bedford, first as a cook and later as a laundry worker.

A very cultured person, she was proud of her ethnic homeland, collecting traditional German memorabilia.  She was known for her hospitality and how she made people feel welcomed and loved. She had a very giving heart.  Ursula enjoyed leisurely rides in the car, midnight runs to Cumberland Farms for iced tea and scratch tickets. Above all, she loved her family at home and abroad.

Besides her husband, she leaves three children, Carol Diane Wilkinson, Ursula Anne Crowell (husband Peter) and Nancy Kay Alphonse (husband Eric); Five grandchildren, Tyler Wilkinson (wife Mary Kate), Caleb Tripp (wife Maria), Grant Crowell, Anya Crowell and Arianna Alphonse; a great-granddaughter, Annabella Tripp; Siblings, Traudl Ubelhor, Heinz Fischer and Charlotte Oswald; Ursula also leaves her beloved dog, “Bitsie”.  She was the sister of the late Gerhard Fischer.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 29, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So.Main St. Fall River.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, November 30, at 10:00 A.M. from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Rd., at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will be private.
