Thomas J. Martins, Sr.

Thomas J. Martins Sr., 75, of Westport, passed away on Tuesday, January, 16, 2024.

He was the loving husband of Linda M. (Borges) Martins for 57 years.

Born in Fall River, Thomas was the son of the late Manuel and Laura “Dolly” (Carvalho) Martins.

Thomas served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service in the military, he attended Johnson and Wales University, earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Thomas was also employed by the Newport Naval Station,Department of Defense. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was the co-owner of the former Martin's Barber Shop in Westport, Massachusetts.Thomas was a baseball coach for the Bayside Little League and the Southend Senior League. He was a family man who’s most important love in his life was his wife, sons and grandsons.

Besides his wife, Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas J. Martins II (wife Tara), and Chris M. Martins (wife Tabitha); Grandsons, Jordan, Ethan, Evan, Thomas III, Aidan; Siblings, David Martin (wife Diane), Brenda Trenholm (husband Albert), and Steven Martins. He also leaves his two cats, Baby Boy and Nosey Rosey.
