Thomas F. Kearns, 88, formerly of Lowell St., Fall River, died Thursday, July 13, 2006.
He was the husband of Irene (Dostou) Kearns.
A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late James and Catherine (Mehan) Kearns.
He was a self employed painting and wall covering contractor and had been employed by American Thread and Bedard Construction.
A former "Corky Row" resident, he was a popular St. Mary Cathedral Parish baseball player.
An avid sportsman and baseball and football fan, he enjoyed fishing, bowling and camping.
Besides his wife of 67 years, survivors include 2 daughters, Barbara A. Moran and her husband Douglas of Springtown, Texas and Jacqueline Rudyk and her husband Charles "Chuck" of Fall River;
A brother, Michael Kearns of Maryland;
a sister, Catherine Howard of Fall River;
5 grandchildren, Deborah Harrison, David and Thomas Moran, Army Capt. Bryan Rudyk and Army CWO2 Jeffrey Rudyk;
10 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Barbara Deslauriers and James Kearns.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Cross Church of Saints Peter and Paul Parish at 9:00 AM.
Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
