Thomas H. Duclos, 79, of Fall River, a quiet,kind, selfless gentleman, who put his family first and never said no, passed away at home Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was the husband of Diane (Carvalho) Duclos with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Tom loved his family and supported his grandchildren growing up, in all their endeavors.
Employed by the Fall River Housing Authority, he retired as Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance, and afterward enjoyed 13 years of the simple life in his retirement.
He served as a board member for A Wish Come True for 23 years. He played baseball in his youth. He then played slowpitch softball and was a second baseman in the SCSL and in 1978 was inducted in the Hall of Fame within the league. Tom was an avid New England sports fan, especially of the RedSox. Tom was a huge animal lover.
He also leaves two daughters, Sharon E. Soares (husband Stephen) and Kimberly A. DeGrazia; three grandchildren, Stephen A. Soares II, Heather E. Soares and Shannon R. DeGrazia; three siblings, Francis Gary Duclos, Margaret Ann Sullivan and Kenneth R. Duclos; and many nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late John W. Duclos, Jr. and the son of the late John W. and Margaret P. (Souza) Duclos.
Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Holy Name Church, Hanover St., at 10 AM.
