Theresa L Plourde

Theresa L. "Terry" (Fortin) Plourde 82, of Swansea, wife of the late Leon P. G. Plourde passed away December 7, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a generous and kind person who was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known to all as "Meme". Theresa was the co-owner of Terry's Variety in Fall River for many years and retired from Bradlees Department Store after several years of employment. Theresa had a great love for animals and enjoyed working around the house especially in her yard. She also enjoyed playing the piano for many years until she became too disabled to do so. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family. She spent the last several years of her life homebound, under the care of her family and beloved home health aides with whom she formed a close relationship with. She leaves 3 children, Christine Plourde of Swansea, Patricia Plourde and her spouse Wendy Simmons of Quincy and Jeanne M. Hill and her husband Edward of Swansea; 8 grandchildren, Laura Velez, Christopher Pelton and Diane Pelton and her fiancé Alan Rogers all of Swansea, Michelle Pelton and her spouse Lindsey Pelton, Shelley Hill and her fiancé Michael Carmello all of Fall River, Kaitlyn Hill of Orlando, FL, Abby and Lilli Plourde both of Quincy; 6 precious great-grandchildren who she loved so much and meant the world to her, Cody Ferreira, Tyler and Morgan Hill, Kole and Aria Rogers and Mallory Carmello; her beloved sister-in-law and best friend Barbara Fortin, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Celina (Gagne) Fortin, the sister of the late Joseph "Al" Fortin, Jr., Joseph "Gerry" Fortin. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St. Fall River. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. LARGE PARKING AREA AND BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE AT REAR OF FUNERAL HOME. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.
