Steven J. Almeida

Steven J. Almeida, 61, of Swansea, formerly of Fall River, husband of Cheryl (Uchman) Almeida, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a former employee of Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford. He played softball, loved fishing and music and was a PAL Hockey and Federal Little League coach and umpire.

Besides his wife of 30 years, he leaves two sons, Steven Almeida and his wife Diane of Swansea and Jason Almeida and his wife Brittany of Fall River; five grandchildren, Ananda, Zachary, Remy, Isaiah and Owen, siblings, Manuel Almeida of Swansea and Gil deAlmeida, Michael Almeida, Frank Almeida, Mary Remy and Linda Medeiros, all of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Manuel and Evelyn (Correira) Almeida and the brother of the late Alfredo Almeida.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Bernadette Church, Fall River at 10:00 AM. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation, Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
