Stanley C. Schab

Stanley C. Schab, 91, formerly of 843 Broadway, Fall River, husband of the late Nellie (Slusarz) Schab, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007. A WW II, Army Staff Sergeant, he served with the 284th. Engineer Combat Battalion engaged in the Battle of Ardennes, know as the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed by the Fall River Water Department for many years. Survivors include daughters, Alice Picard and her husband Roland of Winchester, NH and Janice Schab of Fall River; a grandson, Stephen Picard and his wife Leslie of Connecticut; great-granddaughters, Kristen and Lauren Picard; sisters Jean Wilbur of Somerset and Gladys Knadle of Lincoln, NE and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Sophia (Cwiek) Schab. His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Stanislaus Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 PM. PORTICO, LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assn., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown MA 02472.
