Silverio A. Almeida, 74, of Fall River, husband of Lidia (Sousa) Almeida, died Saturday, June 13, 2015, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he had served in the Portuguese Army. After his retirement 9 years ago from Quaker Fabric, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. A sports fan, he enjoyed watching Benfica, Red Sox and Patriots games with his grandson. Besides his wife of 48 years, he leaves two daughters, Ana Melo (husband Henry) and Nelia Almeida and his only and beloved grandson Nicholas Melo, all of Fall River; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Jose and Margarida (Alves) Almeida and the brother of the late Mimi, Jose, Armano, Alfredo and Agusto Almeida. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. from AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 S.Main St. Fall River, with a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church, at 9:00 a.m. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers. Donations to St. Jude Hospital, P.O.
