Sidney J. "Red" Garell, 84, of Charles St., Fall River, husband of Lorraine (Audit) Garell, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013. A Navy veteran of WW II, he was a 23 year employee of the Traffic Maintenance and Engineering Divisions of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. He was a founding member and secretary of the former Tiverton Police Association and a former Boy Scouts of America Neighborhood Commissioner. Besides his wife of 64 years he leaves 4 children, Stephen Garell (Jacqueline) of Assonet, Wesley J. Garell (Jeanne) and Heidi M. Eisen (Brian Levitre), all of Swansea and Judy Garell-Gregory of Fall River; 9 grandchildren, Todd Garell, Audra Imbert, Kevin Garell (Michelle Walker), Kyle Garell, Wesley Keith Garell (Julie), Tanya L. Pereira (David), Matthew Eisen-Levitre, Nicolas Jordan and Bethany Governo; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence Garell of NJ and Alberta Dessel of Barrington, RI and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Bessie (Sutcliffe) Garell and the brother of the late Francis Garell, David Smith, Lorraine Steely, Ruth Brestal and Shirley Armstrong. His funeral will be held Friday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Good Shepherd Church at 9:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
