Saverio Pietrocatella

Saverio “Ty” Pietrocatella, age 90, of Swansea, Massachusetts, passed away on December 9, 2021. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts to Carmela and Michael Pietrocatella of Campolieto, Italy. Predeceased by both parents and his sister, Lena Campos, he is survived by his two daughters, Dana Falco of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and Denise Murray of Middletown, Rhode Island, their husbands, Dr. Stephen Falco and Charles Anthony Murray, four grandchildren, Alana and Stephen Falco III and Alastair and Marnie Murray. He is also survived by his loving friend and companion of over twenty years, Patricia Shakel of Riverside, Rhode Island.
After honorably serving in the Korean War, Ty’s musical interests and talents as a bass player lead him to New York City where he soon became part of a Jazz Quartet. After returning home to Fall River, Massachusetts and marrying, he pursued a career in sales and was employed for many years by two greeting card companies, Buzza Cardozo and American Greetings. Later in life upon his retirement , he took on the challenge of starting two small business opportunities.

His ventures in Grandfather Clock manufacturing followed by the Frame and Art Gallery reflect both his love of fine craftsmanship and his creativity. He spent his later years in life doing what he loved most, constructing model trains, boats and planes, photography, listening to jazz , reading about history and traveling. Ty’s interest kept him engaged and active throughout his elder years.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 15 at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a Catholic service at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Robeson St. Fall River.
