Sarah A. Casper (Leach) Phillips

CORRECTION Her funeral service will be held MONDAY AFTERNOON, January 26, at 12:30 P.M. Visitation, MONDAY prior to the service from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.. Sarah A. (Leach) Casper Phillips, 88, formerly of Fall River, Portsmouth, RI and Tiverton, wife of the late Ernest Casper and Charles Phillips, died Thursday, January 22, 2015. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1943 and former seamstress, she was an active member of the former St. John Episcopal Church, having served on the Vestry, as Treasurer and as a member of the Altar Guild, Choir and Senior Fellowship. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Portsmouth Chapter, AARP and the Portsmouth Senior Center and a Thrift Shop volunteer. She leaves a daughter, Susan Charest and her husband Paul of Fall River; a stepson, Kenneth Casper and his wife Rachelle of Somerset; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and her beloved cat "Willie". She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Shoard) Leach, the sister of the late Ruth Smith, Thomas Leach, Elmer Leach and Marjorie Gregory and the stepmother of the late John Casper. Her funeral service will be held MONDAY AFTERNOON, January 26, at 12:30 P.M. at the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation and private burial at Oak Grove Cemetery to follow. Visitation, MONDAY prior to the service from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
