Sarah (Champlain) Moniz

Sarah "Sally" (Champlain) Moniz, 65, of Field St., Fall River, died Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Saint Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of Antone S. "Tony" Moniz, Jr. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Abraham "Abe" and Mary (Botelho) Champlain, she lived in Fall River most of her life and in Somerset for 13 years. A member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, now UNITE, she was employed by the former Schneirson Manufacturing Co. and Beacon Garment Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Besides her husband of 44 years, she is survived by a daughter, Cindy Moniz and her fiancé Steven Oliveira of Fall River; 2 sons, Tony Moniz, III and his wife Paula of Berkley, MA and John Moniz and his wife Kristin of Tiverton, RI; a brother, Robert Champlain of Tiverton: a sister, Nancy Plouffe of Fall River; 5 grandchildren, Jarad Moniz, Tony Moniz IV, Jordan Moniz, Taylor Moniz and Miranda Oliveira and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rita M. Sousa, Abraham Champlain, Jr. and Mary "Mem" Miranda. Visitation, Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
