Samuel "Sam" Kershaw

September 10, 1933 — December 15, 2009

Samuel "Sam" Kershaw, 76, of Kennedy St., Fall River, formerly of Tiverton, husband of Georgette (Turgeon) Kershaw, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, following a long illness. He retired from Duro Finishing after 25 years and was a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard for many years. A former member of the Lions Club, he was a computer enthusiast and avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves six children, Sandra Kershaw (William Joaquim, Jr.) of Fall River, Susan Camara (Paul) of Providence, Sharon Chauvin of Maine, Raymond Kershaw (Carletta) of Florida, John Kershaw (LaSalette) of Fall River and Dennis Kershaw (Tina) of Germany; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Kershaw of Tiverton; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jennie Lynn-Carrier of Fall River, Richard Kershaw of Somerset and Gilbert Kershaw of Swansea; nieces, nephews and a faithful companion, "Penny". He was the father of the late Samuel Kershaw, III; the son of the late Samuel and Lillian (Fidler) Kershaw and the brother of the late Grace Pickering, Margaret Roy, Lillian Ayer, Ruth Luther and Harry Kershaw. Following cremation, a memorial service, open to all friends and family, will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701.
