Russell R. Gillet

Russell R. Gillet, 62, of New Bedford, formerly of Fall River, husband of Christine G. (Kitchen) Gillet, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was a bus driver for the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority, then owned and operated Bettor's Smoke Shop at the Harbour Mall, and was more recently employed by Looking Upwards, RI, and Walmart, Fairhaven. He had been active with the Worldwide Marriage Encounter and St. Anne Fellowship, enjoyed Foxwoods and his cat "Simba" and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Besides his wife, survivors include, 4 children, Tiffany Costa and her husband Eric, Sr. of Fall River, Kevin R. Gillet and his fiancée Celine Dupre of Framingham, Mark R. Gillet of Fall River and Kelly Ann Carvalho of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Katelynn R. and Eric J. Costa, Jr., Ashlee, Kaleigha, Samuel and Arriana Gillet, Kimberly and Amanda Carvalho, and Brandon Gillet; a great-granddaughter, Layla Diaz and a "brother" Nathan Burgan of Fall River. He was the son of the late Henry and Lillian (Lavoie) Gillet. His funeral will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church, Fall River at 11:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
