Roy E. Gillette

Roy E. Gillette, 89, of Fall River, husband of 60 years of the late Lorraine (Sicard) Gillette, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children, Tuesday, November 11, 2014. An Army veteran of WW II and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he was employed by Dover Parkersberg for 35 years, where he was also longtime president of Local 1209, A.C.T.W.U.. He was the devoted father of Roy Gillette Jr. of New Bedford, Carlton and Clifford Gillette, Patricia Gillette-Estrella and Carol Proulx, all of Fall River, Shirley Korzeniowski of Taunton and Cathy Forkey of Berkley. He also leaves 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Lafleur; sisters-in-law, Jackie Gillett and Mary Jane Gillett and Elaine Gillette and brothers-in-law, Gilbert Lafleur and Leo St.Pierre and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Louis Gillett of Chorley, England and Agnes Miller Gillett of Fall River and the brother of the late Irene Golisbrowski, Elizabeth Foley, Annie Taylor, Clara Harris and Wilfred, George, Earl, Henry and Gladys Gillett and James Gillette. His funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Cross Church at 11:30 AM. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
