Rose T. (Sylvia) Costa

Rose (Sylvia) Costa, 95, passed away peacefully into eternal life on February 11, 2022.   She was the wife of the late Joseph Costa.  Born in Tiverton, a daughter of the late Mary and Jesse Sylvia.  She was a longtime resident of Fall River and Tiverton.

Rose primarily was a homemaker and caregiver.  She will be remembered for love of family, her steadfast faith in God, her caring spirit and her kindness towards everyone she encountered in her life. She had endured the heart breaking loss of two loving sons Ronald & Joseph Costa.  Rose was predeceased by seven siblings, Julia, Mary, Bella, Georgianna, Manuel, Jesse and Raymond.

Rose is survived by three sons, Alan Costa (late wife Ruth) of Fall River , Steven Costa and wife Colleen of Tiverton, Wayne Costa and wife Gail of Dartmouth; two daughters, Rosemary Catabia and husband Kevin of Dartmouth, Cheryl Wilkinson  and husband Bill of Dartmouth.  She was a proud “Grandma” to 14 grandchildren:  Kimberly, Natasha, Troy,Derek,Vicky, Heidi, Stacy, Cindy, Jennifer, Kevin, Joey, Keith, Jake and Sonya.    She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Rose lived a full life and enjoyed laughing, cooking, baking, festive occasions, dancing, campfires, shopping, picking berries, a good beer, lottery tickets, puppies, penny sales and quiet time in prayer.

Most of all she loved her family and friends and instilled good values in her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, followed by her Funeral Mass at Saint Theresa Church, Stafford Road, Tiverton, at 11:00 AM. For the safety of those attending, wearing a mask is strongly encouraged. Burial will be private.
