Ronald M. Dube

Ronald M. Dube, 67, of Lakeville, formerly of Somerset, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017.

Ron was a retired goldsmith, who worked for many years at Handy & Harman and previously at Leach & Garner. His avocations were music and nature. Ron was a drummer, who performed in several bands over four decades including Typical Stranger, Drive Train and Don Ruby & the Steamers. Ron was also a naturalist, who felt truly at home in the wilderness. He had a passion for bird watching, was a member of the Audubon Society and enjoyed walks in the woods often accompanied by his beloved cats, Hansel & Gretel.

Ron is survived by three children, Rachel Dube of Fall River, Melanie Kirk (husband Christopher) of Vermont and Derek Dube of New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Triton Kirk of Vermont and Dakota Costa of Fall River; two brothers, Gary Dube (wife Beverly) of Somerset, MA and Frederick Dube (wife Christine) of Portsmouth, R.I.; and many nieces and nephews including Scott and Busch Tripp, both of Fall River, who were like sons to Ron. He was the son of the late Henry ‘Dick" and Herta (Schmidl) Dube of Somerset and the former husband of Elizabeth (Camara) Dube. Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held, Sunday, December 10, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at his home, 128 Hemlock Shores Rd., Lakeville, MA .
