Romeo "Pete" Parent

February 12, 1929 — October 16, 2013

Romeo "Pete" Parent, 84, of McCloskey St., Fall River, husband of Pauline (Comeau) Parent, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013. A member of the Msgr. Prevost High School, Class of 1947 and an Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was a Master Plumber for many years, retiring from the Fall River Housing Authority. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Msgr. Prevost Council, Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society of St. Bernadette Parish and Charlton Memorial Hospital and Sarah Brayton Nursing Center Eucharistic Minister. Besides his wife of 61 years, he leaves 3 children, Susan M. Parent of Tiverton, William E. Parent (Meliss) of Mills River, NC and Atty. Diane M. Parent (Lenore Costa) of Fall River; grandchildren, Michael Affonso, Elizabeth Cormier (Jonathan), Jonathan Parent (Ali), Matthew Parent, Adam Parent (Haley), Lowell Cabral and Cheyenne Parent; great-grandchildren, Riley, Jacob, Jackson, Julia and Madden Parent and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Colleen M. Robichaud, the grandfather of the late Amy Parent, the son of the late Ernest and Alphonsine (Desjardins) Parent and the brother of the late Robert and Leonel Parent. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass at St. Bernadette Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Donations may be made to Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven MA 02719.
