Roland G. Chretien

Roland G. Chretien, 76, of Long Highway, Little Compton, husband of Lorraine (Gallant) Chretien, a longtime employee of Raytheon Company, Portsmouth, died Monday, August 27, 2012. He served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and was a member of Massachusetts Army National Guard for many years. He was member of Post 37 American Legion and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife of 51 years, he leaves three children, Michael Chretien of Assonet, Joseph Chretien and his wife Robin of Portsmouth, RI, and Brian Chretien and his wife Karen of Assonet; grandchildren, Megan Gosselin and her husband Jeff, and Rachel, Kimberly, Jessica, Danielle, Samuel and Katlin Chretien; a great-granddaughter, Ava Gosselin; siblings, Charles Chretien and Robert Chretien, both of Fall River, Roger Chretien of Assonet, Rene Chretien and Bertrand Chretien, both of Little Compton, and Denis Chretien of Wales, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Raymond and Imelda (Malenfant) Chretien, and the brother of the late Lorrette Chretien and Ernest Chretien. His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton, at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
