Roger A. Picard

Roger A. Picard, 88, of Old Second St., Fall River, formerly of Lafayette St. and McGowan St., died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Annette (Dauphinais) Picard. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Alcidas and Arthemise (Lavoie) Picard, he lived in Fall River most of his life and in Portsmouth, RI for several years. A Merchant Marine and Navy veteran of WW II, he served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of Post 486, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was employed by Globe Manufacturing for 31 years and by LaCava and Sowersby Auto Parts for many years. He is survived by his beloved Lillian E. Rogers; 4 sisters, Yvette Sevigny of Connecticut, Lorraine Parent of Taunton, Clarise Gagnon or Fall River and Florence Southland of California; 4 grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Adam and Ashley Medeiros and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jeannine Medeiros and the brother of the late Normand Picard. His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. Donations may be made to Jimmy Fund-Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston MA 02115.
