Roger P. Levesque, 79, of Fall River, formerly of Assonet, beloved husband of Jacqueline B. "Jackie" (Dube) Levesque, entered peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph Levesque and Albertine (St. Amand) Levesque Landry, he lived in Fall River for 41 years and in Assonet for 34 years, returning to Fall River. He served in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served 37 years in Federal Service, 25 of them as Director of Publication and Printing at the Naval War College, Newport, and was the first civilian to be recognized by the James L. Maher Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cross of Christ Chapter 12283, Assonet and the American Legion, Post 314. He loved all New England Sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. He was an avid Fox News viewer and loved political debates with anyone who was courageous enough to engage with him. Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves five children, Roger P. Levesque, Jr. (wife Kristen), Yvette J. Farnworth (husband Jeffrey) and Alfred J. Levesque (wife Patricia), all of Fall River, Ronald E. Levesque (wife Teresa) of Acushnet and Melanie A. King (husband Patrick) of Freetown. He was also the much loved "Pep/Pop" to ten grandchildren, Renee Levesque Talbot, Shaun Burgess, Peter Levesque, Meaghan (Farnworth) Hannagan, Alexander Farnworth, Patrick Levesque, Nicole Farnworth, Briar and Ben King and Emma Golden; the great-grandfather of Chloe, Landon, Nolan, Emarie, Connor and Emily; the brother of Jeannine Roy of Fall River and also leaves his "faithful companion, Abby". He was the brother of the late Maurice J. "Moe" Levesque, Irene Martel, Theresa St. Pierre and Leo J. Levesque and the stepbrother of the late Norman, Lawrence and Richard Landry and Germaine Dennis. His funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Bernard Church, Assonet at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
