Roger A. Ferron

Roger A. Ferron, aged 88, passed away on Tuesday, September 4. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Grant) Ferron, with whom he shared 66 years of marital bliss.

Born in Fall River, Roger was the son of the late Donat and Yvonne (Boissoneau) Ferron. He was also a beloved nephew of Marie Rose "Little Rose" Ferron ("La Petite Rose").

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Roger was the owner and operator of Provincial Upholstering in Fall River for many years. During this time, he also taught the art of upholstery at the Swinburne School in Newport, RI. Roger also worked for 15 years at Brown University, from which he retired in 1995.

Roger had a life-long passion for classic automobiles and boats, several of which he owned over the years. He enjoyed watching tennis and visiting Newport with Barbara to enjoy the ocean. He also loved his pet poodle Pepi, whose memory he cherished always.

Besides his wife, Roger is survived by his daughters Gale Dube (Ernest) of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Debra Harkin (Thomas) of Tiverton, RI; and his son William of Fall River; granddaughter Kristen Bernard (Alex) of Port Orange, FL and grandson Brian Harkin (Jennifer) of Riverside, RI; and great-granddaughter Peyton Bernard of Port Orange, FL. He was the brother of Georgette Levesque and Rosemary Souza of Fall River and Donald Ferron of Somerset. He was predeceased by sister Lorraine Ward of Fairhaven.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Mary's Cathedral at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
