Roger J. Couture

Roger J. Couture, 77, of Somerset, husband of Ann Marie (Cloutier) Alves Couture and husband of the late Cecile (Alves) Couture, died Thursday, April 9, 2015. A graduate of Coyle High School, First Sergeant Couture served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for 25 years and was employed by John Hancock Insurance Co. He served in the Air Force, stationed in Japan. He enjoyed golf, making several trips yearly to Myrtle Beach, SC and fulfilled a lifelong dream of living there for 7 years before returning to Somerset in 2012. He also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Taunton Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed cribbage and traveling but his favorite past time was telling life stories to all his friends and family. Besides his wife of nine years, he is survived by his children, Donna Rogers and her husband Dan of Marion, MA and John Couture and his wife Trisha of Dighton; his grandchildren, Sarah Birkins and her husband James, Carolyn Rogers, Patrick Rogers and his wife Stephanie, Andrew Couture and Matthew Couture; his great-grandsons, Daniel and Robert Rogers; his wife's children Brian Alves and his wife Jennifer and Jennifer Moe and her husband Erol of New Hampshire and their children, Kelsey, Nathan and Owen Alves, and Catherine and Collin Moe; nieces and nephews and close friends. He was the father of the late Robert Couture; the son of the late Elizee and Loretta (Bouffard) Couture and the brother of the late Raymond and Paul Couture.
