Robert P. Szargowicz

Robert P. Szargowicz, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 81.  He was the husband of Helen (Piekielniak) Szargowicz with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.  Born in Fall River, the son of the late Peter Szargowicz and Irene (Gauthier) Reis, he was a graduate of Diman Vocational Technical High School.

A member of the Massachusetts National Guard, Bob served during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Bob was employed as an electronic technician at N.U.S.C. (Naval Underwater System Center) for 30 years before retiring.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and three daughters, Robert Jr. (wife Lisa), Lynne Szargowicz, Susan Murphy (husband Martin) and Cheryl Lewis (husband Frank); He was the devoted grandfather (Dziadziu) to Robbie, Brandon, Caitlyn, Emma, Lauren, Connor and had one great-grandchild.  He is also survived by a brother, Peter Szargowicz (wife Terry), a niece and a nephew.

A visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St.Fall River.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at St. Madeleine’s Church, 35 Lake Rd. Tiverton, at 10:00 AM.
