Robert Rego

Robert Rego, 69, of Village Way, Westport, formerly of Mott St., Fall River, died Sunday, September 23, 2007. The son of the late John and Georgianna (Alves) Rego, companion of the late Patricia (Tate) Whiting, and brother of the late Lorraine Veloza, he lived in Fall River most of his life and in Westport for the past 2 years. A Vietnam War Veteran, he served in the Air Force for 10 years, and was employed by the Quincy Shipyard, Fall River Park Department and the Fall River School Department. A musician, he played the organ and accordion and was past-president of the Fall River Bowling Green and a member of the Otis Fish and Game Club and the High Hill Fox & Coon club. Survivors include his children, Roberta Lynn James and her husband Eric of Arkansas, RoseMarie Machado and her husband Roger of Fall River and Robert Rego, Jr and his wife Susie of Florida; the children of his late companion, Jacalyn Creech and Nancy Whiting, both of North Carolina, Kevin Whiting of Bristol and Karen Morrell of Fall River; a nephew, Michael Veloza and his wife Sheila of Plymouth, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
