It was always believed that the ocean would take his life but that was not to be. Robert Pimental, 90, an Army veteran and Tiverton resident, passed away on Sunday, Decmeber 3, 2017, at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol where he resided for nearly four years. He was the husband of the late Lena Rose (Georgadarellis) Pimental, his wife of over 62 years. Born in Fall River, MA, to Yvonne Larrivee and Victor Pimental, he was the brother of the late Victor Pimental, Jr. and Paul Pimental. He is survived by six children: Barbara Price (Andrew) of Killeen, TX, Linda Metcalfe (Tom) of Tiverton, Brenda Malenfant (John) of Hull, MA, Joanne Burlingame (Richie) of Titusville, FL, Robin Roncka (John) and Robert Pimental Jr.(Cheryl) both of Tiverton; grandchildren Kyle and Rachel Burlingame, Johnny and Jenna Roncka, Larissa and Kaylin Pimental, extended family Erica and Sara Price, TJ Metcalfe and Kyle Hilario and several nieces and nephews. He had a great love for the ocean, was a well respected saltwater fisherman and was a member of the Linesiders Fishing Club. He played softball, loved to roller skate and played semi-professional football for the Riverside Crescents. He was the best of the best. A master electrician, he was a graduate of the Diman Regional Vocational High School electricity program. He was employed by Firestone Rubber and worked on the Newport Navy Base as an electrician.
