Robert P. Cote, 91, of Westport, husband of the late Pauline L. (Longchamps) Cote, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was raised in a large family and would often fondly reminisce of his experiences and time spent with his family in Island Park, Common Fence Pointe and at his father's cottage on Stafford Pond.
He would continue his love of spending time at local beaches and when traveling with the love of his life, Pauline.
Bob grew up with his father and uncles learning the trade of carpentry - together as skilled, dedicated and talented builders and craftsmen they created many impressive municipal buildings and custom homes including building a beautiful home for his own family in Westport where Bob and Pauline raised their sons and remained in for 56 years.
Bob went on to be a trusted superintendent for the Mellon family at their Estate on Cape Cod for the remainder of his career.
As a young man, he served his country in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Bob had many hobbies and interests, he was an avid reader, car enthusiast and loved going to the movies and playing golf. Most of all Bob loved being around his family and friends, always fun to be around, he loved to joke and laugh. Later in life, he looked forward to his outings and lunches with his dear friends Mike and Jim.
He leaves his two loving sons, David Cote (wife Jody) and Gregory Cote (partner Lisa Boron), a granddaughter, Khoryn Cote, with whom he had a very special bond and relationship, his adoring sister, Diane Sunderland and her sons Mark, Lee and Chris Sunderland and special niece Anne Marie Kern and her husband Tom, and many extended family and many dear friends.
He was the brother of the late Elaine Cote and Paul Cote and the son of the late Henry and Jeannette (Fortier) Cote.
