Robert J. Marsland

Robert J. "Bob" Marsland, 67, of Ridge St., Fall River, entered into rest Monday, September 26, 2005 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Rita (Borges) Marsland. Born in Fall River, the son of the late James and Beatrice (Harrington) Marsland, he lived in Fall River most of his life, and spent his summers living on Stafford Pond, Tiverton. He worked over 30 years for the former Harvey Probber Furniture Company as a fine craftsman furniture maker. He served 8 years in the National Guard. Besides his beloved wife of 47 years, his survivors include 3 daughters, Cheryl Canuel (Maurice) of Swansea, Linda Wood (Donlie) of Easton and Lisa Gravette (Tony) of Fall River; a son, Robert J. Marsland, Jr. of Florida; a sister, Janice Filena of Florida; 6 grandchildren,Beth, Amy, Katlyn, Jamie, Bailey & David. and nieces and nephews. Following cremation, calling hours will be held Thursday, Sep. 29, from 5-8 p.m. in AUCLAIR Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, with a memorial service in the funeral home Friday morning at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
