Robert A. "Bobby" Frederick, 78, of Kennedy St., Fall River, husband of Janet K. (Nickerson) Frederick, died Saturday, June 13, 2009.
A member of the Carpenter's Union, Local 1305, Sergeant Major Frederick served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for over 39 years. A member of the Howland Chapter of New Bedford, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. As baseball coach of the Saints Peter and Paul CYO in the early 70's, his team won 3 diocesan championships.
Besides his wife of 56 years he leaves, 4 sons, Robert Frederick, Michael P. Frederick, David W. Frederick and Carl A. Frederick all of Fall River; grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicole, Justin and Jason Frederick; 3 great-granddaughters; siblings, Pauline Porter of Virginia, Nina Medeiros and Anna Beattie, both of Fall River, Vincent Frederick of Portsmouth, RI, Edmund Frederick of Kentucky and Donald Frederick of Westport and nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Allen and Armelina (Bouchard) Frederick and the brother of the late Leona Manso and Allen, Peter, William, Victor and Carl Frederick.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Saints Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visitation, Tuesday 3:00 to 9:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to St.Vincent de Paul Society of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 250 Snell St., Fall River MA 02721 would be appreciated.
