Robert Cyr

Robert "Bob" Cyr, 94, of Swansea, husband of Louise (Marcoux) Cyr, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

An Army veteran of WW II, he served in the Pacific as a Tank Division Medical Technician. He was a fifty year employee of the former Fall River Knitting Mills, specializing as a knitting machine mechanic. Bob retired in 1991. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved cross country traveling and camping. A craftsman, he was always there to help friends out doing projects and building houses.

Besides his wife of 69 years, he leaves three children, Paul Cyr and his wife Melissa Baron-Cyr of Little Compton, RI, Pierre Cyr and his wife Carolyn of Warrensburg, NY and Michelle Hicks of Swansea; grandchildren, Jean-Claude, Chantal, Woody, Dominique and Gabrielle; great-grandchildren, Ty-Robert, Ian, Aiyanna and Leilani; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Solomon and Marie (Thibault) Cyr and the brother of the late Normand and Maurice Cyr.

Visitation at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Sunday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a funeral service at 12:00 noon, followed by military honors at 1:00 PM.
