Robert P. Canuel

MSG Robert P. "Bob" Canuel, US Army, Retired,age 70,formerly of Fall River, husband of Beverly Ann (Marques) Canuel, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford, MA.

A 21 year Combat Veteran, he honorably served his country on four continents alongside the 173rd Airborne, 101st Airborne, 66th Maintenance Company, 548th Engineers, OPM-SANG, and others. In recognition of outstanding service and sacrifice, especially during combat action in the VIETNAM War and Operation DESERT STORM, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and other honors and awards too numerous to list.

Besides his wife of 40 years, he leaves four children; Neil R. Canuel and wife, Julie (Noles) Canuel of Friendswood, TX; Pamela J. Jacobi of Houston, TX; David P. Canuel and Darcy Schuster and husband, Robert of Middletown, RI; two stepdaughters, Kristen T. Almeida and Kerrin L. Houlker and husband, Al, of North Kingstown;

Fourteen grandchildren: Henry Canuel; Logan, Daniel and Jillian Jacobi; David Paul Jr., Joshua, Nickolas and Lucus Canuel, Brendan and Aidan Schuster; Amber B. (Mello) Levesque and, husband Paul, Adria Mello, Chelsy Houlker and fiancé, Joseph Carani,and Ryan Houlker; four great-grandchildren, Alivia and Aria Levesque, Jayson Mello and Savannath L. Carani; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the son of the late Leo E. and Imelda Anne (Richard) Canuel and the brother of the late Pauline (Canuel) Flanagan and Donald L. Canuel.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA.
