Robert A. Cyr, 56, of Grove St., Fall River, died at home Friday, September 9, 2005. He was the husband of Margaret M. (Powers) Cyr. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Raymond A. Cyr, Sr. and Ruth (Sherman) Cyr, he lived in Chicago for many years, returning to Fall River 5 years ago. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, a former CYO basketball player and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a chef at the Bon Appetit Restaurant of Amgen Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, West Greenwich, RI. He was a Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan and enjoyed cooking, gardening and nature. Besides his wife of 14 years, survivors include a brother, Raymond A. Cyr, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Fall River; 2 sisters, Donna Dorrance and her husband Timothy of Rehoboth and Cathy Durand and her husband Paul of Tiverton and 8 nieces and nephews, Paul and Timothy Durand, Amy Rae Infante, Jillian and Kathryn Dorrance, Robert Pontes, Kristi Paulino and Kimberly Hathaway; aunts, uncles and many loving family and friends. His funeral was private. Calling hours and flowers omitted. Donations may be made to Faxon Animal Rescue League, 474 Durfee St., Fall River MA 02720. Arrangements entrusted to AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
