Rita G. (Milotte) Forcier

Rita G. (Milotte) Forcier, of Fall River, widow of Raymond R. Forcier, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the age of 101.

Loving mother of Pauline M. Forcier of Fall River, Colette A. Santos (husband Marc) of Fairhaven, Jean P. Forcier (wife Diane) of Tiverton, RI, and the late Donald R. Forcier (wife Theresa) of Fall River, Loving grandmother of Jason J. Carreiro (partner Christine Drabek), Alexis L. Carreiro, Raymond E. (Remy) Carreiro, Mathieu J. Santos, Christienne A. DaSilva (husband Derek), Nolan Forcier, Joel Forcier (partner Kristen Pacheco), and loving great grandmother of Cohen and Jude. She was the sister of the late Sister Adrienne Milotte, s.s.c.

Rita was schooled at Stanstead College in Stanstead, PQ, Canada and received her degree in music from the College of Music in Montreal, PQ, Canada.

She was an accomplished pianist who was always eager to bring her music to others. In the 1960's, she formed a small musical group and, for fifteen years, was able to share her love of music by performing at numerous nursing homes and VA hospitals throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Rita's greatest passion and deepest joy were rooted in her family. She was a devoted mother and loving grandmother who enjoyed nothing more in life than being surrounded by those she loved. She will always be part of our fondest memories, especially those of our family gatherings at "memere's" where she would play the piano - we would sing - and her home would be filled with love and laughter. We will love her always and we will miss her forever.

Following cremation, a funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, May 15 at St. Anne's Shrine, Fall River, MA. At the request of the family, the wake and burial will be private.
