Rita A. (Doré) Forand

Rita A. (Doré) Forand, 90, of Fall River, wife of the late Rene A. Forand, entered into rest Friday, October 16, 2015.

A recipient of the Marian Medal and the St. Vincent de Paul Society Top Hat Award, she worked in the garment industry and was a volunteer at the former Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home for many years.

She leaves three children, Donald R. Forand of Fall River, Jane Benevides and her husband Joseph of Somerset and Joyce Forand-Voorhis and her husband Stephen of Brockton; grandchildren, Jill Benevides, Julie Benevides (husband Harish Valsan), Johnathan Benevides, Megan Voorhis (husband Jorge Berges), Alyssa Voorhis and James Voorhis; great-grandchildren, Maia Berges Voorhis and Kira Berges Voorhis; brothers, Maurice Doré of Tiverton and Gerald Doré of Fall River; and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Berard) Doré and the sister of the late Alex Doré.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation, Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 951 Stafford Rd., Fall River MA 02721.
