Rita (Gelinas) Charest

Rita (Gelinas) Charest, 91, of Fall River, wife of the late Donald R. Charest and mother of the late Robert R. Charest, entered into rest unexpectedly surrounded by her family, Saturday, September 10, 2016.

She was employed by GTE Sylvania and was a member of St. Patrick Parish Bowling League and Government Center Bowling League. She enjoyed reading and sewing.

She leaves four children, Raymond A. Charest and Georgette Huff (late husband Harold "Don" Huff) both of Fall River; Donna M. Manchester and her husband Everett C. "Pete" Manchester, Jr. of Tiverton and Evelyn R. Sirois and her husband Leo N. Sirois of Fall River; grandchildren, Christopher Murphy (Diana), Rene Charest (Karen), Jennifer Manchester Reid (Jesse), Donald Charest (Inna), Peter Manchester (Kerstin), Jonathan Sirois (Rachael), Allison Sirois and Rachael Sirois; great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Samantha Murphy and Jolie, Kate and Logan Charest; lifelong friends, Veronica Jamiel and Teddy Reed and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Rene and Cora (Letendre) Gelinas and the sister of the late Norman Gelinas and Bertha Dufresne.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, September 17, at 9:30 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Good Shepherd Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation, Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
